Listening to the weather developments, it appears that another storm (now a depression, but threatening to become larger), will encroach on Louisiana and other parts of our Gulf Coast this weekend. While it doesn’t appear to be of the caliber of Katrina, there is still cause for concern. I wish all of my friends in the region safe passage through this, and the following menu is in your honor.

Vegetable Gumbo of peppers, zucchini, okra, tomatoes, black-eyed peas, and rice; salad with creamy dressing; corn muffins

Watermelon wedge
